10 Things That Will Reduce Your Anxiety and Help You Sleep Better Tonight

We know you want peace and relief, and a good night of rest should be attainable for all. We understand because we use to be you. Covid-19 is revealing so many challenges not just globally but internally as well. Here are the things we have found helpful and links to some of our favorite products. Because, well, we care about you.

  • Try and set up a sleep environment that is cool in temperature, I personally like a window open and the room temp around 65 degrees. 
  • Create a sleep space that is luxurious, purchase silk or cotton sheets, our favorites are found here. Sleep in comfortable pajamas or nothing at all, close light blocking curtains, use blankets that make you feel cozy or try  a weighted blanket, my current candle obsession is here and a inexpensive way to feel relaxed, I love these as they all come in great fragrances and natural shades. You could even go as far as painting the room a relaxing and neutral shade. I love earthy tones that create a relaxed calming vibe. Use textures too!
  • Create a sleep ritual for yourself. Dim the lights, meditate, read a book, this one is on my list, write in your journal and/or take a warm bath or shower.
  • Cut back on screen time an hour before bed. (I know you’ve heard this one more than once).
  • Get an hour of exercise each day, even if you just get out and walk your neighborhood. We set up a circuit area in our backyard and it’s pretty fun since we can’t hit the gym or a trail any longer.
  • Breathe deeply, notice your breath, inhale for 3 seconds, hold that breath for 5 seconds, exhale for 3 seconds. Repeating 10 to 15 times. This should help relax and clear your mind.
  • Use guided imagery or meditation apps like the Michael Sealey’s Sleep Hypnosis, you can find it here to help calm your busy mind and help you relax.
  • Use aromatherapy, I love the Vitruvi products to help guide your senses to a calm state. Their blends are amazing. I have the stone diffuser found here and several sleep blends and a sleep ritual kit!
  • Keep a worry book, write your worries down and set them aside so you don’t go over and over them before you fall asleep.
